Hey there members,

With my return to the internet and Game Maker, comes a new creation in the making.

I've always wanted to make an avatar and userbar creation tool, which offers many effects and options to give the best result.

But I am lacking in one area, knowing what people want.

So I am making this topic so people can tell me what they would like to see in a program such as this.

Please post any and all suggestions for what you would like to see in an application like this.

I use paint.net and the tool I use most is the gradient tool. transparency and layers are also important.

The ability to print money.

I second that.

But if you can't figure out how to do that, I suppose a Motion Blur effect would be the next best thing.

@ jackaroo - 0_0;

@ apc - By gradient tool, do you mean simply drawing a rectangle that fades from one color to another? Or is is mapping the gradient on an image?

The same could be asked about transparency. Do you mean simply changing the alpha value of a given image/layer, or alpha mapping?

Layers were already decided, since I have come up with a good layer system that makes for a maximum of 255 layers to be used and, PaintX will have it's own encrypted image format that you can save to. smile.gif

@ TechnoSuperguy - Motion Blur? Meh, shouldn't be too hard. smile.gif

@ joshj99 - Well done! biggrin.gif Someone else remembered! Yes, this was indeed a collaboration project in the beginning between me and a member from the GMC, but we both had different ideas on how things should be programmed and how things looked, so we decided against the idea of working together on this project. tongue.gif

Keep 'em comin' guys!

*The ability to have the ability to have the ability.
*The ability to have a hex, RGB, and binary color editor.
*The ability to have a customizable color swatch palette (like flash's)
*the ability to have skillz.

@ apc - Okay, that's pretty easy, but the gradient will let you blend between 4 different colors, one for each corner.

And alpha value of images / text / etc will all be handled in the layer system. smile.gif

@ AwesomeDesign - Okay, fair enough for the RGB and Hex color picker, but do you really need a binary option?

And can you tell me a little more about the palettes you're talking about? I don't have Flash anymore lol.

Thanks guys biggrin.gif

Fine, no binary editor :'(

For the color palette thing, when you edit a color with the RGB editor that color is added into your color swatches, and not just replacing another color in your swatches like paint does, so you can easily use that color again without having to write all the RGB values down, open your color editor, and plug them in every time you want to use a color that isn't pre-made for you.

Don't know if that helps. :/

Aha! I get you now.

I whipped up a small GM6 for a palette system in about 5 minutes.

Download it here.

Tell me what you think of that. smile.gif

Cool. You get an error if you load then hit cancel, though.
Other than that it's awesome. I never thought of saving palettes before. smile.gif

Yea, I know about that error lol.

I know why it happens to, but I didn't bother fixing it because it was just to show you my interpretation of palettes. smile.gif

Yea, saving palettes have always seemed like a good idea to me, mainly because on sprite sheets, you sometimes see people putting the palette they used. smile.gif

Glad you liked it.
