The Orange Box is on Xbox 360, PS3 & PC.

And what is it I hear you ask?

Is it a box thats orange? Do you play as a box thats orange?

Well no neither. In fact why its called the orange box is beyond me. Maybe valve (The creators) like orange. But it could've been called "The Blue Hexagon" and it wouldnt make a difference.

No the game is actually 5 games. In 1 box. Which happens to be coloured orange? That could be how they got the title. But no one knows for sure laugh.gif

The 5 games included are Half Life 2 & its 2 Sequels Half Life 2 : Episode One & The brand new Half Life 2 : Episode Two (I bet you was expecting episode 3 werent you laugh.gif ). Then there is Portal & Team Fortress 2.

Half Life 2 is a fantastic FPS & Puzzle game. Yes thats right. Puzzle game. There will be many tricky puzzles along the way which you must figure out for yourself. An example is a puzzle that takes place near the start. You will come to a weird seesaw type thing. You need to stack bricks up on one end of the seesaw to get the other end high enough so you can run up it and jump onto a ledge. The action in the game is also great and the game has a strange realistic feel to it. The beginning is completly freaky and weird. The graphics have been updated since the last release of the game. Straight away in the game you will be plunged into a new world which really gets your attention. Its an awesome game and should be played by anyone who missed it.

As for Episodes 1&2 i cannot speak for them. Since i havent beat the first game yet i havent played these 2 yet. Same with team fortress 2. I havent played this because i have no online on my 360 sad.gif I want it so bad.

But portal. Ive beat and played many times. Portal is incredible. Its short but fun and a completly new experience. There are many humerous moments. You are captured somehow. No explanation there. You are being used as a guinea pig by a computer named GLadOS or something like that. You are given a portal gun near the start which lets you fire blue portals. Only blue portals at first. The orange portals will be placed somewhere in the levels and you need to use this to help you beat the puzzle. You will do many things from putting boxes on buttons, flinging yourself great distances using the portals and making little energy balls hit the energy cores to activate elevators or doors and stuff. Later you will get to control both Blue & Orange portals adding more difficulty to the puzzles but more fun to the game. Messing with the portals can be great fun sometimes. The main game will probably last about 3 hours. Yea i did say it was short. However after this you'll unlock advanced mode & challenge mode for the last 5 or 6 levels or something. Advanced mode is what it says. ADVANCED. It is much harder. The first 2 levels wont take long to solve. BUT the third is hell. I still havent beat it. Im dreading the levels after. There is a problem i seem to have with advanced mode though. I dunno if its just me or if its the game itself but it doesnt seem to save my progress in advanced mode meaning i need to do the first levels again which can be annoying. Finally challenge mode gives you several challenges in each levels. They are Fewest Steps, Fewest Portals & Least Time. However i have yet to try these yet.

Overall the orange box is well worth your money. In fact if im being honest i think its too cheap. We deserve to pay more for this. But i wont jinx it. Wait what do i care for? I have the game. I wont have to pay extra. AHAHAHA. Anyway just get this game if you like FPS/Puzzle games. Its one awesome game that everyone will enjoy.

Thats my review of the green circle.
Enjoy.

Good review there Jackaroo, make me want the Orange Box even more, well, only Portal.

Looks awesome, I am currently looking for a download *not illegal* for Portal itself, but having no luck.

Great review,

Well, there's no point in that, because I went and bought the game, and, because of the specs on my computer, everytime a portal opens, the game freezes.

Though the weird thing is that my computer meets the minimum requirements for the game, so I don't know.

I gave the game to my friend anyway. smile.gif
